Referdle
What exactly is a referdle?
Referdle is a word puzzle game inspired by Wordle that adds a thrilling layer of difficulty. The game entails guessing five 5-letter words while following typical Wordle rules: word attempts must be legal 5-letter words, letters turn green if they are right and in the correct location, and yellow if they are in that word but guessed incorrectly. Word 1 is the first guess, and Word 5 is the final answer to the Clue Grid.
Gameplay Guidelines
The total number of guesses required to properly identify all of Words 1-5 and complete the Clue Grid determines your score. The lower the figure, the better! If you fail to guess any of the words after five attempts, you lose the game.
If you complete each puzzle separately, it becomes quite challenging. The Clue Grid, on the other hand, gives a lot of supplementary information that can be useful. Cluebot's games are always rational. For example, using this Clue Grid, if you correctly anticipate the first word as FIRES...
Your estimations can be utilized in any sequence on any board; simply click or press the board you want to test. If you have a physical keyboard, you can cycle through the boards by hitting 'tab' or'space'.
Using the on-screen keyboard, you may keep track of your deductions. The keyboard, like Wordle, will automatically turn keys for a certain board to dark grey / yellow / green. You can, however, long-press (or long-click or right-click with a mouse) to make a key dark blue to indicate that it has been ruled out. For example, remember from Word 1 that the letter 'F' never appears again in the Clue Grid. To make the 'F' key dark, long-press it when Board 2 is selected. If you haven't made a guess for Words 3-5, the letter 'F' will also turn dark on those boards.
It will become orange if you enter a term that does not exist in the Referdle dictionary.
To assist people with large vocabularies, Referdle allows you to insert a lot of arcane terms that will never appear as answers in a Clue Grid. When you type one of these terms into the search box, it becomes yellow, suggesting that it will never be an answer. The same is true for US / British spellings to guarantee transatlantic compatibility. So you can enter both ODORS and ODOUR, but neither will appear in the Clue Grid.
