Dots and Boxes is a simple and entertaining two-player pen-and-paper game. The game starts with a dot grid that is empty. The grid can be any size you choose, and Gametable's Dots and Boxes provide a few different options.

Gameplay Guidelines

A coin is flipped or Rock-Paper-Scissors is played to determine who begins first, albeit in Dots and Boxes, Player 1 always starts first.

Players take turns connecting two nearby horizontally or vertically unjoined dots. When a player completes the fourth side of a 1x1 box, he or she earns one point and must take another round.

When all lines have been drawn and all boxes have been claimed, the game is ended. The player with the most points wins. If more than one player has the same top score, the game is a tie.
