Backwordle
What exactly is Backwordle?
Backwordle is a type of word puzzle that requires you to solve a Wordle backward. You are given a 5-letter green target word and a grid of gray and yellow squares, and your task is to determine which four guesses resulted in the given pattern.
Gameplay Guidelines
The following Wordle rules apply:
- The letter is present in the target word, but it is in the incorrect location.
- The letter is absent from the target word.
Furthermore, previous yellow letters will always be included in subsequent guesses but never previous gray letters. All of the words are from a list of words that are fairly common, but there are countless others that may fit the pattern but are not common enough to make the list.
Each puzzle will begin by revealing all vowels* and can be solved in any order. Click the check button on the right when you're certain a word is correct. If the word is incorrect, all correct letters are revealed and one incorrect letter is revealed, resulting in a one-point deduction from your score. If you get stuck, click the plus button on the left to reveal one missing letter, which will cost you one point.
